We would like to personally thank both of these judges for their time, patience and wealth of knowlege they have forwarded to us. The doe in first place has an advantage in general appearance over doe number one. She is well balanced throughout giving her a more level top line. She also has the advantage of width when viewed from the front and back.
I will commend the doe in 2nd place for her strong feet and pasterns in addition to depth in barrel.

The 1st place doe has the advantage over the doe in second and third place in her head and neck as well as her shorter body frame. She is deeper in the chest floor with a much more level back. Although I wish I could see the doe in 1st place’s feet, I believe her body structure throughout is much stronger.
The doe in 2nd place excels in body capacity over the doe in third place. She is wider in the chest floor and deeper in the barrel.
I will commend the doe in third place for her tight shoulder. I also believe the doe in 3rd place could be quite a few months younger than then the two ahead of her and with a little growth will fill in nicely.

The first place doe is placing over two for her shorter bone patter throughout and the advantage of width when viewed from the front and back.
The doe in second place is placing over doe number three for her smooth blending throughout, point of shoulder more smoothly set against the body, and point of elbow more tightly set against the chest wall.
I will commend the doe in third place for her depth in body.
My first place doe for the 50% to 69.99% doe’s is Windy Ridge Candy Kisses in class 4C.
Although I am unable to see her feet and a portion of her cannons, She is the most well rounded doe. From her correct head to her cobby body and her level top line to her rump. She excels in width in front and back and has a lovely deep barrel. I addition to that she has tight shoulders and a strong chine.

The first place doe is placing over two for it’s shorter bone pattern throughout, more level topline and her barrel is broader and deeper than the doe in second place.
The second place doe is placing over three for her much more level top line and more correct rump angle. Though the second place doe yields to the doe in third place for depth and width in her barrel, the second place doe has a more correct head all around and meets the breed specific coat markings.
I will commend the doe in third place for her barrel depth and width and her brisket extension for such a young age.

The first place doe was an easy winner for me. Though she yields to the other does in breed specific coat markings, she excels in many other areas. Starting from her very broad head and muzzle down to her short neck through her level topline. This doe also holds up her deep and wide barrel with a lovely wide stance in front and back standing on four very correct and strong feet.
The doe in second is placing over three for her more level topline, better extension in brisket, wider stance, and more forward facing feet.
The third place doe is placing over four for her deeper barrel, wider stance and shorter bone pattern throughout, and point of elbow more tightly set against the chest wall.
I will commend the doe in fourth place for her lovely feet with strong, short pasterns and tight toes.

The first place doe is placing over two for her strength in general appearance. She has smoother blending throughout, deeper and wider barrel, lovely correct feet and shorter cannon bones, and a more correct rump angle. Though she does yield to the doe in second place for having legs set slightly forward and not allowing for much brisket extension.
The second place doe is placing over three for her more level top line, more correct rump angle and depth in body. Though she yields to the doe in second place in breed specific coat markings, she also has a slightly shorter bone pattern throughout with a broader muzzle and wide head and slightly shorter neck.
The third place doe is placing over four for similar reasons. She has a deeper barrel, shorter bone pattern throughout and shorter neck with a wider stance when viewed from front and back.
I will comment the doe in fourth place for her tight shoulders, tight pasterns and forward facing feet.

Though there are no other does in this class, this doe is lovely in her own right. I will commend her on her correct head, tight shoulders and deep barrel.
My first place doe for the 70% – 89.99% was the first place doe, Mygunyah Olympia, in class 6B.
Though she does not meet the breed specific coat markings, she stands out and excels in other areas. She is a lovely doe that is very powerful and tightly put together.

The third place doe is placing over four for her depth in body, extension of brisket, more correct head, and feet are more correctly facing forward
I will commend the doe in fourth place for the width and depth of her chest floor and smoothly blended tight shoulders.

The 1st place doe I chose from the 90%-100% was Trinity Blackberry in class 8D.
She stood out to me above all the other does for being an all around well balance doe. She Has a beautifully correct head, smooth blended body, deep and wide barrel. She also has a short stature and short boned throughout. This is a very powerful doe.

2E
I will commend this doe for her smooth blending throughout, shorter bone pattern throughout than you see in some of the other foundation does, and lovely brisket extension. I’d also like to point out the four strong feet she is standing on with tight pasterns and are facing forward.
The first place doe I chose from the foundation group is Rust n Red Gwendalyn in class 2B.
As a foundation doe, I feel she as the stronger body confirmation to meet the Pygmy breed standards. She is short necked and very deep bodied for a young doe. She also has the advantage in width.
Best Doe Over All
When looking at all these lovely does, and taking in all factors of the Pygmy scorecard, or guidelines, the doe that meets the highest number of points is Trinity Blackberry in class 8D.
She embodies what a pygmy should look like and is a very powerful doe that is put together beautifully. She is a doe that will hold up for many years and has great potential to pass on her strong qualities through her progeny.

These two bucks in my opinion best represent the Breed Standard set by the National Pygmy Goat Association. This may change with seeing them on the move or in person. In person as a judge you can assess things such as: stifles, elbows, sternum, brisket, shoulder attachment, levelness across the top, muscling and smoothness of blending.
Things to look for in your bucks
- Set/Straight forelegs/rear legs
- Color patterns and breed markings
- Dorsal and martingale over the shoulder and to carry back to the tail
- Slope to the rump
- Increasing depth from the heart girth to the flank ( lots of these bucks have depth, but it is not increasing)
- Agulation to the rear legs
- Increasing depth from the heart girth to the flank
- Heavier bone
- More correct ear sets
- Width in the chest floor
